Australia.

Curnow’s connections to Australia are deep. Curnow was born in Perth, Australia and still has family there. She started her career in Sydney, working for Pacific Publications on a number of their titles. She returned to Sydney for the bushfires.

Her grandfather, Sydney Curnow, was a Springbok cricketer who travelled to Australia as part of the South African cricket team in 1930/1931. He played against Donald Bradman and the two struck up a lifelong friendship - evident in the letters they wrote to each for decades. Sydney Curnow, fell in love with Australia during the tour, emigrated to Perth with his family after he and his wife became disillusioned with South Africa’s political situation and unequal society.
