Curnow reported on many political and economic developments in Africa from her first story on the SABC charting the end of the Mobutu Sese Seko regime in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Across Southern Africa she reported from the capitals and the rural areas. Meeting people, and interviewing their leaders.

Additionally the host of CNN’s Marketplace Africa for years she presented a weekly programme on the business and economic potential of Africa. She also regularly profiled artists and musicians and authors for the feature programme Inside Africa.
